The problem

If you reuse the same prompt and correct the same mistake every time, you and that prompt are in a toxic little routine. Don’t make it longer automatically. First, figure out which instruction failed.

Add this at the bottom

Prompt
After you finish the task, audit the result. Name one instruction you followed well, one instruction you missed or interpreted weakly, and one sentence I should add before I reuse this prompt. Wait for my approval before rewriting anything.

You still make the decision

AI can critique itself badly, too. Treat its suggestion as one option to review—not an automatic edit. Keep only the sentence that would make the next run clearer.

Try it on one prompt

  1. Run the prompt on a normal task.
  2. Read the post-game review and choose one useful change.
  3. Approve that change, then test the revised prompt on a similar task.
